Event management has emerged over the past decade as a dynamic sector of the tourism and leisure industries. The number, diversity and popularity of events have also grown throughout this period. As the number of events increase, there is a growing realisation about continuing need to develop event management professionals who are able to create event, organise and manage events.

The executive team changed on the 1st of January 2021 with a new set of leaders poised to continue to build on the legacy of the past team and take the association to a higher level by setting and emphasizing industry standards. The next two years will be used to do this. I see an association that will become veritable stakeholders with both our domiciled state and Federal government.
